A quick overview of SIC codes.
Every business is assigned a numeric code which identifies the products or services provided by that firm.
This numeric code is called an SIC code. An SIC code is short for Standard Industrial Classification code.
These codes are segmented at 2, 4, 6 and 8 digit categories. The additional digits further define a category and are a
subset of the previous category. An example of this is listed below.
